Developed team trainings with Region 4 Assistive Technology Specialists and taught Assistive Technology Team Seminars, a multi-year project-based Assistive Technology training program that utilizes face-to-face instruction, distance learning, and peer networking to participating school districts across the greater Houston region.
Training topics include introduction to AAC, legal framework for AAC and assistive technology assessments, assessment and implementation of AAC and core vocabulary in the pediatric population, the SETT framework, using assistive technology to support literacy development in the pediatric population
Trained teams from 33 school districts during the 2023-24 academic school year.

This presentation promoted core vocabulary in functional activities. Participants learned how to navigate a simple core vocabulary board to make basic wants and needs known. Participants learned how to adapt books and play activities to increase participation. Video case studies illustrated adapted strategies and demonstrated its embedded use in functional activities that promoted active learning and development of functional communication and literary. Presentation included a make-and-take so participants left with a ready-to-use low technology core vocabulary board.
